Job summary

ABIS in Saudi Arabia seeks a QC Inspector – Piping (UG) to perform inspection and testing of underground piping installation activities, including trenching, bedding, coating, and backfill, ensuring compliance with drawings and codes.

The role requires 5–8 years of field QC experience on utilities, a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, and QC certification preferred. You will document results and support handover dossiers for the project.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with relevant inspection background.
• QC/inspection certification preferred and experience in underground piping projects.
• 5–8 years of field QC inspection experience on utilities works.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on underground piping installation works.
• Witness trench excavation, bedding, coating/wrapping, and backfill per the ITP.
• Verify pipe alignment, depth, and joint integrity against drawings.
• Witness hydrotests, coating integrity checks, and cathodic protection tests as required.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as needed.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with clients/third-party inspectors prior to backfill.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and closure verification for underground piping works.
• Assist in quality documentation for handover dossiers.
