Job summary

Abis Co is seeking a QC Inspector – Piping (UG) to perform inspection and testing of underground piping installation activities, including trenching, bedding, coating, and backfill, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.

The role involves in-process and final inspections, witnessing hydrotests and coating checks, maintaining inspection records, and coordinating with clients and third-party inspectors to support handover dossiers.

Qualifications

• Requires diploma or degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering with QC/inspection certification preferred.
• Experience in underground piping/utilities construction and ITPs is necessary.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on underground piping works.
• Witness trenching, bedding, coating/wrapping, and backfill activities per ITP.
• Verify pipe alignment, depth, and joint integrity against drawings.
• Witness hydrotests and coating integrity checks as required.
• Verify materials against certificates and specs.
• Record inspection results and raise NCRs as needed.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/3rd-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of equipment used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and handover dossiers.
