Atkins Realis Group is seeking a Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer in Saudi Arabia to plan, develop and monitor traffic management and detour strategies across bridge and infrastructure construction projects.

The role requires 12–15 years of traffic engineering experience, with 8+ years supporting major bridge/highway projects, and familiarity with Saudi standards. The position emphasizes safety, coordination with construction teams, and public road user protection.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Highway Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering is desirable.
• Professional Engineering registration or membership of a recognized engineering institution is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TTMPs) for bridge and infrastructure construction activities.
• Prepare traffic diversion and detour schemes to support phased construction works.
• Review construction staging and identify traffic impacts from bridge erection, road closures, utility relocations and infrastructure works.
• Coordinate traffic management requirements during project planning and construction phases.
• Develop traffic phasing plans that maintain network functionality during bridge construction activities.
• Coordinate lane closures, temporary alignments and traffic diversions for construction operations.
• Review traffic impacts related to bridge launching, girder erection, heavy lifting and major structural works.
• Conduct traffic assessments and analyze construction-related impacts on road users.
• Review traffic volumes, intersection performance, queue lengths, and operational constraints.
• Evaluate alternate traffic diversion routes and recommend optimal solutions.
• Assess pedestrian and cyclist movement within construction zones; support traffic simulation and modelling as needed.
• Ensure all traffic management measures prioritize safety; monitor compliance with layouts and road safety requirements.
• Inspect temporary signage, barricades, road markings and lighting; support Road Safety Audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with construction teams to align traffic diversion plans with schedules; review contractor proposals and provide recommendations.
• Facilitate approvals for diversions, detours and road closures; participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops.
