Role Overview: The Senior Reporting Manager will lead the design, implementation, and governance of the PMO performance reporting framework for a complex infrastructure or construction program in Riyadh. The role will ensure that reporting requirements, submission calendars, data sources, templates, approval processes, and performance measures are defined and consistently applied. Reliable PMO reporting enables program leaders to identify and address delays, cost concerns, risks, delivery constraints, and emerging performance trends before they become critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the definition of PMO reporting requirements for projects, work packages, and program functions.
- Develop standardized weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting formats.
- Create forms, templates, trackers, and tools for capturing project and program status information.
- Establish reporting instructions, submission requirements, review workflows, and approval responsibilities.
- Coordinate the preparation, consolidation, quality review, and distribution of PMO reports.
- Maintain reporting schedules, calendars, deadlines, and submission trackers.
- Ensure reports are issued accurately and within agreed reporting cycles.
- Support the design and implementation of the PMO performance reporting framework.
- Establish reporting governance procedures and data-quality controls.
- Maintain consistency in definitions, calculation methods, status categories, and reporting periods.
- Lead the development of PMO dashboards and executive performance summaries.
- Convert detailed project information into clear trends, exceptions, forecasts, and recommendations.
- Present schedule, cost, risk, progress, quality, and delivery information in an accessible format.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators aligned with strategic objectives and program milestones.
- Define KPI calculation methods, data owners, thresholds, and reporting frequencies.
- Monitor KPI performance and highlight significant variances or deteriorating trends.
- Coordinate with project controls teams to align progress, schedule, and milestone information.
- Work with finance and commercial teams to reconcile cost, budget, and forecast data.
- Integrate project risk information into management reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to validate physical progress and package status.
- Investigate conflicting, incomplete, late, or unreliable reporting data.
- Coordinate corrective action with the responsible data owners.
- Maintain traceability between source information and published reports.
- Lead and manage reporting analysts, reporting engineers, and data specialists.
- Allocate responsibilities according to reporting cycles, workload, priorities, and technical capability.
- Review team outputs for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and presentation quality.
- Mentor team members in data analysis, visualization, technical writing, and stakeholder communication.
- Promote professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop dashboards and visual reporting products using Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze and present program information.
- Improve reporting efficiency through automated data collection, validation, and visualization.
- Reduce manual reporting errors by introducing structured data processes and reusable tools.
- Prepare executive presentations for client leadership, governance boards, and senior management.
- Clearly communicate key achievements, performance gaps, risks, trends, and decisions required.
- Support internal and external reporting requests.
- Ensure reporting outputs comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and approved procedures.
- Maintain controlled records of reports, dashboards, source data, and management decisions.
- Support reporting audits, assurance reviews, and lessons‑learned exercises.
- Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, reporting systems, and data governance.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with PMO reporting and performance management.
Ideal Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in PMO performance reporting, program reporting, or project controls reporting.
- Demonstrated success supporting major infrastructure, construction, development, or engineering programs.
- Degree at Level 8 or equivalent in engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of PMO reporting structures, governance, procedures, and performance‑monitoring systems.
- Proven experience developing and implementing reporting frameworks, templates, calendars, and controls.
- Strong data analysis and visualization capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Practical experience developing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong working knowledge of Tableau or comparable business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to consolidate information from project controls, finance, risk, commercial, and delivery functions.
- Experience defining and maintaining program‑level key performance indicators.
- Strong understanding of schedule, cost, progress, risk, and performance reporting.
- Ability to validate data, identify inconsistencies, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Proven people‑management or reporting‑team leadership experience.
- Ability to mentor analysts, engineers, and reporting professionals.
- Strong technical writing, editing, and report‑structuring skills.
- Graphic design or advanced presentation‑development experience is advantageous.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Confident stakeholder engagement with clients, project managers, directors, and senior executives.
- Ability to explain complex performance information to non‑specialist audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet demanding reporting deadlines.

- Project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or CAPM is advantageous.
