Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Principal Equipment Design Engineer for power generation projects in Saudi Arabia. The role requires extensive leadership of mechanical engineers and designers, overseeing FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support, and technical assurance for large‑scale power plants (700 MW and above).

The candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with expertise in equipment selection, bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews. PE/CEng is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in power generation projects (FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support).
• Experience on large-scale power plants (700 MW and above).
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Develop engineering execution plans, deliverable registers, manpower plans, and schedules.
• Review and approve equipment data sheets, technical specifications, calculations, and engineering deliverables.
• Lead technical bid evaluations and provide procurement support for mechanical equipment and packages.
• Review, coordinate, and approve vendor drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, clients, and vendors.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value engineering studies.
