Job summary

Saipem in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Project Planning/Control specialist to establish and manage a comprehensive planning and progress control system. You will support the Project Manager to meet contractual dates and baselines, and monitor deviations with corrective actions.

Responsibilities include bid-phase setup, internal program development, and KPI analysis to project time projections during execution, ensuring alignment with WBS/CBS and client requirements.

Role Description

• Establish and manage effectively a planning and progress control system in order to support the Project Manager decisionmaking process and allow him to complete the project according to the internal baselines and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements
• Ensure any deviation from plan is promptly spotted and analysed, final time impact is estimated and the effect of corrective actions taken is monitored
• Create a schedule awareness atmosphere among all project participants

Tasks

During Project Bid Phase

• Start project control activities at the invitation to the kick-off meeting (KOM)
• Identify, catalogue, and register the most important information of the initiative
• Create a dedicated folder to save all files used during the bid phase
• Develop/prepare a Road Map Program containing actual dates, contractual milestones, engineering phases, procurement, construction/fabrication, offshore transportation and installation, commissioning, and completion date
• Develop the Internal Program implementing the project's WBS/PBS
• Customize the Internal Program activities in line with the Scope of Work
• Prepare an initial engineering and procurement Internal Program based on the deliverables list and equipment summary
• Develop the Client Program and Gap Analysis
• Execute a gap analysis between the Client's expected durations and internal ones
• Highlight critical points and risks to support the Proposal Manager in decision-making
• Develop the final Project Program
• Prepare complementary documents to the Project Program, such as the native Primavera P6 file, program printout, program narrative, and labour histogram

During Project Execution Phase

• Identify project objectives and planning to ensure the execution of the Scope of Work according to project requirements
• Assign adequate resources to the project team according to project control sizing criteria
• Prepare the Project Baseline Program
• Monitor the status of project activities to update progress and manage changes to the Project Baseline Program
• Execute KPI analysis, trends, and simulations to provide the Project Manager and Project Control Manager with the most probable time projection for activity completion
• Support the Project Control Manager and Cost Control Engineer to build-up invoicing package
• Collect all available documentation from both the bid phase and the actual contract to identify the Scope of Work and contractual requirements
• Prepare the Start-Up Action Plan, which includes the definition of project breakdown structures (WBS/CBS), draft project procedures, and preparation of the document list
• Define of the project's cut-off date calendar
• Calculate the project's physical progress based on specific credit rules for each project phase

Professional Skill

Knowledge of construction sequences for relevant disciplines.

Knowledge of activities weight (standard man-hours, expected man-hours) and applicable efficiency (day inches per day, thumbs per day, cube meters per day).

Ability to execute construction sequences planning , including the scheduling of the activities, in order to ensure the achievement of mechanical completion in respect of the schedule and the final handover.

Ability to implement the right staffing for construction activities and sequences for all relevant disciplines

Capability to plan discipline engineering activities and documentation deliverables in order to meet Project schedule milestones considering design workflows and engineering interfaces with all other project disciplines and functions. Capability to manage dynamic changes due to endogenous and exogenousfactors.

Capability to monitor project activity progress (single/multiple function activities) and to prevent potential issues with appropriate corrective actions.Contribute to Project reporting for the relevant
