Job summary

Al Rugaib Holding Company is seeking a Planning Engineer to develop and manage project baseline schedules for major contracting and construction projects in Saudi Arabia. You will monitor progress, analyze variances, and report performance to support timely, cost effective delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering and at least 5 years in planning and scheduling, with proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project, CPM, earned value, and strong Excel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction/contracting sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of planning techniques, CPM, and earned value management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the project baseline schedule in coordination with the project team.
  • Monitor and update project progress and compare actual performance against the planned baseline.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including S-curves and progress dashboards.
  • Analyze schedule variances, identify critical activities and delays, and recommend corrective/recovery actions.
  • Prepare and update resource, manpower, and equipment histograms and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to obtain accurate progress data.
  • Prepare look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly) and support short-interval planning.
  • Support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis when required.
  • Coordinate with consultants and clients on schedule submissions, reviews, and approvals.
  • Ensure alignment of the project schedule with contractual milestones and completion dates.

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Planning Engineer to join our contracting and construction company. The candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, tracking progress against baseline, analyzing variances, and providing accurate reporting to support timely and cost effective project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction/contracting sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of planning techniques, critical path method (CPM), and earned value management.
  • Ability to prepare baseline programs, progress reports, cash-flow curves, and resource/manpower histograms.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings, BOQs, and construction methods and sequencing.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and data presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (especially Excel), and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
