Job summary

OSUS in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to administer payroll, compensation, and benefits with high confidentiality. You will ensure timely payroll cycles, handle statutory payments, and coordinate with Finance on reconciliations and period-end closing.

The role supports cost control and continuous improvement in payroll processes. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of payroll experience, strong knowledge of statutory platforms (GOSI, Qiwa, Mudad), and fluent Arabic/English

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of payroll, compensation and benefits experience.
  • Strong payroll processing knowledge and period-end closing support.
  • Familiarity with GOSI, Qiwa, Mudad and related processes.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and process monthly payroll cycle, including inputs, adjustments, deductions, overtime.
  • Calculate compensation, allowances, benefits, and end-of-service payments.
  • Manage government fees, statutory subscriptions, and registrations with authorities.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records with confidentiality of data.
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll posting, reconciliation, and accruals.
  • Monitor HR costs against budget and support variance analysis.
  • Support month/quarter/year-end HR financial closing activities and reconciliations.
  • Review payroll outputs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers on payroll, insurance, and benefits.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, financial controls, and labor regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by line manager.

Job Summary:

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for administering payroll, compensation, benefits, and employee-related financial transactions accurately and confidentially. The role ensures timely payroll cycle execution, proper handling of statutory and government-related payments, alignment with approved policies, and effective coordination with Finance on reconciliations, reporting, and period-end closing activities. The role holder supports cost control, maintains accurate employee compensation records, and contributes to continuous improvement in payroll and rewards processes.

Responsibilities are not limited to:
  • Administer and process the monthly payroll cycle, including payroll inputs, adjustments, deductions, overtime, and final settlements.
  • Calculate employee compensation, allowances, benefits, and end-of-service related payments in line with approved policies and contractual terms.
  • Manage employee-related government fees, statutory subscriptions, and required registrations through relevant platforms and authorities.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and compensation records and ensure proper documentation, filing, and confidentiality of employee financial data.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate payroll posting, reconciliation, accruals, and employee cost reporting.
  • Monitor payroll and other HR-related costs against budget and support variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end HR financial closing activities and provide required schedules and reconciliations.
  • Review payroll outputs and employee payment transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance before final release.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers on payroll, insurance, benefits, and employee financial matters.
  • Respond to employee queries related to payroll, benefits, deductions, and entitlements in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with internal HR policies, financial controls, labor regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in payroll, compensation & benefits, or HR operations with strong payroll exposure.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing, employee cost accounting, reconciliations, and period-end closing support.
  • Familiarity with government and statutory platforms and requirements, including GOSI, Qiwa, Mudad, and related processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and good working knowledge of HRIS / ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential data with high accuracy.
  • Good communication skills in Arabic and English, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Finance and other stakeholders.
