Job summary

Surbana Jurong is actively seeking Senior High Voltage Engineers for upcoming energy and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The candidate will coordinate with utilities, contractors, and internal teams, providing guidance, reviews, and mentoring, while ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and grid

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in high-voltage power engineering.
• Strong experience in AIS/GIS substations and protection design.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE standards and grid code requirements.
• Experience in transmission, distribution, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of HV and EHV substations, including AIS and GIS systems.
• Prepare and review substation layouts, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Undertake protection studies, equipment selection, and design reviews.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers.

Role Overview

We are inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Senior High Voltage Engineers for upcoming energy and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of high-voltage power systems, including transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of HV and EHV substations, including AIS and GIS systems.
• Prepare and review substation layouts, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Undertake protection studies, equipment selection, and design reviews.
• Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in high-voltage power engineering.
• Strong experience in AIS/GIS substations and protection design.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, utility standards, and grid code requirements.
• Experience with transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous Middle East or Saudi Arabia project experience is highly desirable.
