Job summary

Buro Happold in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Design Manager – Structures to lead structural design delivery on a landmark luxury development. You will oversee consultants, ensure quality, and drive coordination acrossarchitecture, MEP, interiors, landscape and infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and significant experience in managing complex, high-value projects in the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• Significant experience in structural design management on complex, high-value buildings.
• Strong understanding of structural systems and multidisciplinary design processes.
• Ability to review and challenge technical design submissions effectively.
• Experience in BIM-led project environments is preferred, Middle East experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural consultants and inputs across multiple project packages.
• Review calculations, reports, drawings and submissions for quality and coordination.
• Coordinate with architecture, MEP, interiors, landscape and infrastructure teams.
• Lead design reviews, workshops and gateway submissions.
• Manage design risks, changes and value engineering for structural packages.
• Support programme planning and monitor consultant deliverables against milestones.
• Provide reporting to project leadership and client teams; support procurement activities.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices in structural design management.
