Job Purpose
The Sales Manager will lead revenue generation efforts for the Electrical, Automation, and Services business by crafting and executing robust sales strategies. This includes driving customer acquisition, nurturing key client relationships, monitoring market dynamics, and leading a high-performance sales team to achieve growth targets. The incumbent will serve as a strategic partner to clients, ensuring solution-based sales that align with their needs and the company’s capabilities.
Main Job Responsibilities
1. Process, Policy & Compliance
- Recommend improvements to sales policies, operational processes, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and legal standards.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Logistics) to ensure efficient delivery and service execution.
2. Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Identify new markets, applications, and industry segments for business expansion.
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan to expand the customer base and strengthen the company’s market presence.
- Present sales forecasts, pipeline reports, win/loss analysis, and strategic insights into senior management.
- Track industry trends and identify emerging technologies and market shifts.
- Evaluate market potential, customer demand, and profitability of business opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth by executing sales strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle – lead generation, customer engagement, technical consultation (with pre-sales), proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
- Develop and manage sales pricing strategies, including discount structures and margin analysis.
- Maintain an updated understanding of competitor activities, pricing, and offerings.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Conduct regular field visits to prospects and existing clients to foster business relationships and uncover opportunities.
- Investigate lost deals and customer churn to identify improvement areas.
- Assist in organizing and participating in trade exhibitions, industry events, and customer roadshows.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Partner closely with clients to understand their operational, technical, and commercial needs.
- Ensure ongoing engagement through regular communication, timely issue resolution, and value-added support.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach, enhancing loyalty and client retention.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives and account managers.
- Set individual and team performance objectives and monitor outcomes against targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and feedback sessions.
- Identify training needs and facilitate skill development and career growth opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
6. Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly sales reports, market analysis, and customer insights into leadership.
- Track revenue, sales pipeline, conversion rates, and profitability against set targets.
- Provide input for business planning, budgeting, and resource allocation based on market intelligence.
7. Special Assignments & Cross-functional Support
- Support senior leadership on special business initiatives, strategic partnerships, and key client presentations.
- Participate in internal committees, product development discussions, or solution design, as needed.
