Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to lead the planning and design of multi-technology mobile networks across Saudi Arabia. This role is critical in ensuring optimal network coverage, capacity, and quality through advanced RF engineering methodologies.

Job Description

As an RF Design Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end radio network planning and design across 2G, 4G, and 5G technologies. You will perform detailed link budget analysis, propagation modeling, and hardware dimensioning to support high-performing wireless networks. The role requires close collaboration with optimization, operations, and planning teams to ensure seamless network deployment and performance alignment. You will analyze KPIs, drive performance improvements, and provide technical leadership in RF design strategies. This is a hands‑on engineering role suited for professionals with strong experience in telecom RAN design and tools, particularly within large-scale operator environments such as STC.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan RF network coverage, capacity, and performance for 2G, 4G, and 5G networks
• Perform link budget analysis, propagation modeling, and hardware dimensioning
• Develop RF design deliverables including coverage maps, frequency plans, and sector configurations
• Evaluate network performance using KPIs and recommend design enhancements
• Conduct parameter tuning to optimize network quality and user experience
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including optimization, planning, and operations
• Utilize RF planning tools to simulate and validate network designs
• Support integration and rollout activities to ensure alignment with design objectives
• Interface with customers and stakeholders to ensure design requirements are met

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in RF design and planning for mobile networks (2G/4G/5G)
• Strong knowledge of RF engineering principles including link budgets and propagation models
• Proven experience with propagation models such as Hata, COST-231, and Okumura
• Hands‑on expertise with RF design tools (Atoll, Planet, Mentum, or equivalent)
• Experience in network hardware dimensioning (antennas, RRUs, amplifiers, TRXs)
• Solid understanding of RAN technologies (GSM, LTE, 5G NR)
• Experience analyzing network KPIs and performance metrics
• Familiarity with drive testing tools and optimization processes
• Exposure to STC processes and tools is highly desirable
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience working on large‑scale operator projects in the Middle East
• Knowledge of 5G advanced features (Massive MIMO, beamforming)
• Familiarity with automation in RF planning or scripting tools
• Certification or training in wireless network planning tools
• Experience in multi‑vendor RAN environments (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia)
