RF Designer (2G/4G/5G Network Planning) | Trio Telecom | Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Trio Telecom is seeking an experienced RF Designer to support a major Ericsson and STC network program in Riyadh. This role is responsible for designing and optimizing multi‑technology mobile networks to ensure exceptional coverage, capacity, and service quality across 2G, 4G and 5G environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan 2G, LTE, and 5G wireless networks for optimal coverage, capacity and quality.
• Perform network dimensioning and hardware capacity planning.
• Conduct link budget analysis and propagation model calculations.
• Develop coverage maps, frequency plans and sector configurations.
• Analyze network KPIs and recommend design enhancements.
• Perform parameter tuning to improve network performance and user experience.
• Support network expansion, modernization and optimization initiatives.
• Interface with customer teams to align designs with operational and business requirements.
• Collaborate with planning, optimization, implementation and operations teams.
• Prepare technical design documentation and engineering reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum five years of experience in RF design, dimensioning and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of 2G, LTE and 5G network design principles.
• Experience performing link budget analysis and propagation modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with RF planning and design tools.
• Proven experience working with STC processes and tools.
• Strong understanding of capacity planning and coverage optimization methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience on Ericsson network projects.
• Knowledge of advanced 5G features such as Massive MIMO and beamforming.
• Experience with Atoll, Planet, Mentum or equivalent RF planning tools.
• Familiarity with drive‑test analysis and optimisation processes.
• Previous experience supporting large mobile network operators in the Middle East.
