Job summary

Almarai is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for Seafood at the Rabigh facility in Saudi Arabia. You will lead the site’s quality systems, ensure compliance with QMS and food safety policies, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

You should have HACCP certification, Lead Auditor credentials, and ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 experience, with 8+ years in food QA, preferably seafood or FMCG, in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or related discipline.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001 or equivalent.
• HACCP Certification.
• Minimum 8 years of Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong experience in the seafood processing industry is essential.
• Experience managing food safety systems, laboratory operations, and quality teams in high-volume manufacturing.
• Multinational FMCG or food manufacturing experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain site Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve HACCP plans and food safety programs per ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards and international food safety certifications.
• Manage laboratory operations including microbiological, chemical, and product quality testing.
• Lead internal and external audits ensuring certification and compliance outcomes.
• Monitor quality KPIs, customer complaints, non-conformances, recalls and incidents; implement CAPAs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, waste reduction, and cost optimization.
• Manage supplier quality performance including packaging and raw materials.
• Lead hygiene, housekeeping, pest control and environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide leadership and development to the Quality team and foster a high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to meet objectives.
• Develop annual departmental budgets and ensure cost management.

About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with company Quality and Food Safety Policies, Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. The role will lead all quality-related processes, personnel, and resources while driving a culture of food safety, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction throughout the seafood manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain site Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HACCP plans and food safety programs in accordance with ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and international food safety certifications.
• Manage laboratory operations, including microbiological, chemical, and product quality testing activities.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring successful certification and compliance outcomes.
• Monitor quality KPIs, customer complaints, product non-conformances, recalls, and food safety incidents, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality performance, waste reduction, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage supplier quality performance, including packaging and raw material suppliers.
• Lead hygiene, housekeeping, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Quality team while building a high-performance culture.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to achieve business objectives.
• Develop annual departmental budgets and ensure effective cost management.
