Job summary

Ahqsons is seeking a Proposal Engineer to support the Sales Team by preparing high-quality technical and commercial proposals for water treatment chemicals. This role is crucial in securing new projects for Al-Jazira Water Chemicals Processing Plant.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of experience in similar roles, excellent technical writing skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD. Strong communication skills in English are essential, while Arabic knowledge is a plus.

Job description

The Proposal Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Sales Team by preparing high-quality technical and commercial proposals for water treatment chemicals and related solutions. The role directly contributes to securing new projects, tenders, and long-term contracts for Al-Jazira Water Chemicals Processing Plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals in response to RFQs, RFPs, and tenders.
• Review tender documents, specifications, BOQs, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with sales, production, procurement, QA/QC, and logistics teams to gather required inputs.
• Ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, competitive, and submitted on time.
• Provide technical clarification and product selection support to the sales team.
• Customize solutions for water treatment chemicals (e.g., industrial water, wastewater, RO, cooling towers, boilers, etc.).
• Assist sales during client meetings, technical discussions, and negotiations when required.
• Prepare cost estimates, pricing models, and margin analysis.
• Work closely with procurement and production to ensure realistic and profitable pricing.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Prepare technical datasheets, method statements, compliance matrices, and clarifications.
• Ensure proposals comply with client, regulatory, and internal standards.
• Maintain an organized database of proposals, tenders, and standard templates.
• Analyze won/lost bids and provide feedback to improve future proposals.
• Support development of standard proposal formats, technical libraries, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Good command in AutoCAD is an advantage.
• 3–7 years of experience as a Proposal Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar role.
• Proven experience in water treatment chemicals, industrial chemicals, or process industries is highly preferred.
• Strong background in tendering for industrial plants, utilities, or EPC clients.
• Excellent technical writing and proposal preparation skills.
• Commercial awareness and pricing strategy understanding.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce precise engineering drawings and detailed construction plans.
