Job summary

ENGIE Saudi Arabia is seeking a mechanical maintenance professional to support plant operations and ensure uptime for water treatment and RO facilities. The role requires a 3 year Diploma in Mechanical and about 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in power, water (RO), or petrochemical environments.

You will perform planned and corrective maintenance, follow OEM manuals, and assist engineers in planning daily tasks while maintaining tool readiness and safety

Qualifications

• 3 year Diploma / or equivalent in Mechanical
• 3 years’ experience of working with Mechanical maintenance in similar industrial setup preferably a power and Water (RO) plant or large size utility or petrochemical plant
• Experience in maintenance and repair of water plant equipment, RO plants, major rotating equipment and valves
• Hands on background in water treatment equipment maintenance related to RO membranes and desalination
• Knowledge of environmental regulations as they pertain to water production facilities

Responsibilities

• Completes all Work Orders generated in Computerize Maintenance Management system as directed by the Mechanical Engineer
• Generates reports for maintenance done
• Ensures maintenance aligns with OEM manuals
• Reviews procedures and suggests improvements
• Supports 24-hour call-out functionality and reduces downtime
• Performs troubleshooting with the Mechanical Engineer and colleagues
• Records and reports rectifications to Head Mechanical Engineer
• Assists planning daily jobs with the Mechanical Engineer
• Ensures tooling is available and reports tool loss or damage
• Keeps tools in good working order and assumes ownership of plant equipment

Job description

• Completes all Work Orders generated in Computerize Maintenance Management system as directed by the Mechanical Engineer;
• Generates reports (mainly log sheets/check sheets) as necessary for the maintenance done;
• Ensures that maintenance of all mechanical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment;
• Reviews Mechanical Maintenance Procedures and suggests improvements;
• Works to his full potential and does high quality work.
• Supports reliable and accessible 24-hour call-out functionality;
• Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability;
• Performs troubleshooting activities as necessary along with the Mechanical Engineer and colleagues to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found;
• Records and reports to the Head Mechanical Engineer all rectification jobs undertaken;
• Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with mechanical equipment under the guidance of Mechanical Engineer.
• Discuss planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with Mechanical Engineer;
• Assist the Mechanical Engineer in planning daily jobs.
• Ensures necessary tooling is available at work sites during performance on any job;
• Uses correct tools for each job;
• Reports loss of tools or damage to any tools to the Mechanical Engineer;
• Informs Mechanical Engineer of any requirements for tools;
• Ensures that tools are in good working order.
• Assumes ownership of plant mechanical equipment and strives to keep them in the best possible condition.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

3 year Diploma / or equivalent in Mechanical

Experience:

3 years’ experience of working with Mechanical maintenance in similar industrial setup preferably a power and Water (RO) plant or large size utility or petrochemical plant

Skills:

Technical:

• Good experience in the maintenance and repair of water plant equipment, preferably in RO plant
• Experience in the maintenance and repair of major rotating equipment;
• Experience in the maintenance and repair of motor, hydraulic and air operated control/stop valves;
• Operational plant or construction site experience is an advantage.
• Must be able to plan and work independently and take responsibility for plant projects
• Knowledge of the kinds and types of equipment installed derived through a combination of hands-on experience and formal training performed in the manufacturer’s factory and/or at the job site;
• Demonstrates skills in the use of tools, test equipment and calibration appliances;
• Strong mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity and mathematics;
• Must be able to visually read and respond to computer generated data, instrumentation, gauges, readouts and variations color;
• Hands on background in water treatment equipment maintenance as related to RO membranes maintenance / replacement, desalination, cooling water systems and water purification equipment;
• Working knowledge of Environmental Regulations as they pertain to the operations and maintenance of a water production facility
• Able to handle all work related to Mechanical engineer during his absence
