The Project Controls Specialist will provide the analytical link between project scope, schedule, cost, resources, commitments, and actual performance. The position will collect and evaluate project data to identify emerging variances, strengthen forecasting, and give project leadership greater visibility over financial and schedule performance. Effective controls will help teams understand the consequences of project decisions, maintain approved baselines, manage changes, and keep delivery aligned with budget and funding constraints.
Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Analytics, or a related discipline and typically bring at least 10 years of experience in project controls, project reporting, or performance management. Relevant experience on large-scale infrastructure, rail, transportation, construction, or engineering programs is important. Candidates should understand the relationship between scope, Work Breakdown Structures, schedules, budgets, commitments, progress measurement, and project performance. A strong analytical background is required, including the ability to interpret cost and schedule information, investigate variances, monitor labor and financial data, and convert complex project information into useful reporting. Professional credentials such as PMP, Primavera P6 Certification, Power BI Certification, or an AACE qualification are desirable and can strengthen the candidate 's project controls capability.
