Job summary

Role Context

The Project Manager provides the leadership structure that keeps complex projects commercially controlled, technically coordinated, and aligned with client objectives. The position oversees the complete delivery lifecycle and establishes clear baselines for scope, programme, cost, resources, quality, and stakeholder commitments. Success requires more than maintaining schedules. The Project Manager must anticipate delivery pressures, interpret performance data, resolve competing priorities, manage change, and ensure decisions are documented and communicated across multidisciplinary teams. As the principal interface for clients and key stakeholders, the role also carries responsibility for maintaining confidence in project performance while developing team capability and identifying opportunities for stronger future client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Control project budgets and monitor expenditure, forecasts, commitments, and emerging cost pressures.
• Coordinate resource allocation to ensure project teams have appropriate capability and capacity at critical delivery stages.
• Manage vendors, consultants, contractors, and other external partners against contractual and performance requirements.
• Support contract administration and address supplier or contractor performance concerns before they affect major milestones.
• Ensure project deliverables comply with relevant codes, regulations, quality requirements, client standards, and approved procedures.
• Act as the primary project contact for clients and maintain clear communication regarding progress, decisions, risks, changes, and priorities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and establish practical routes for resolving issues that involve multiple parties.
• Facilitate project meetings, management reviews, decision forums, and performance discussions.
• Maintain transparent records of key decisions, approvals, changes, commitments, and stakeholder actions.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline and bring at least 15 years of professional project management experience with progressively greater responsibility for complex assignments. A recognized Project Management Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent credential is required. Strong candidates will have extensive experience within infrastructure, construction, engineering, or related project environments and a substantial record of leading multidisciplinary teams. Approximately 8 years of leadership responsibility is preferred. The role requires advanced capability in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, cost control, risk management, change control, scope management, contractor oversight, and stakeholder engagement. Experience delivering projects valued above $5 million is advantageous, particularly where the candidate can demonstrate successful control of programme, budget, quality, and contractual performance. Knowledge of permitting, regulatory processes, and compliance frameworks relevant to major project delivery is valuable. International or multicultural project experience is also preferred. Candidates should be confident using project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, or comparable systems. Familiarity with ERP platforms and business intelligence tools will strengthen the profile. Experience applying Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid project delivery methodologies is beneficial, as are additional qualifications in risk or change management.
