  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for advancing sustainable technologies.

Description

Prof. Husam N. Alshareef , Chair of the Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Storage Technologies (CREST) at KAUST, is seeking postdoctoral researchers with experience in the field of lithium‑ion battery recycling. The focus of this position is on material recovery from cathode materials through groundbreaking filtration and extraction processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and lead the development of lithium‑ion battery recycling technologies.
  • Develop advanced separation technologies including solvent extraction, membranes, and adsorption, for recycling and purification of selected elements from the cathode materials.
  • System level performance optimization of metal recovery processes.
  • Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and present at international conferences.
