Job summary

KAUST invites applications for postdoctoral researchers in the Physical Science and Engineering Division, focusing on lithium-ion battery recycling. The role emphasizes material recovery from cathode materials using advanced filtration and extraction processes.

You will develop separation technologies, optimize metal recovery at the system level, and contribute to high-impact publications and conferences. A PhD in a related field and experience in microfluidics or mass transport are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mass transport processes, with a preference for candidates experienced in microfluidics.
  • Experience in lithium-ion battery recycling or cathode material development is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and system setup.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for advancing sustainable technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
