Job summary

Hudhud in Riyadh region seeks a Mobile Mapping Technician to operate and maintain data collection systems across urban and rural environments. The role requires mounting and configuring equipment, coordinating with data processing teams, and ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

The ideal candidate has a background in geomatics or GIS, plus experience with field data collection and geospatial tools like ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, or a similar discipline preferred.
• Background with field data collection, surveying, or mapping operations preferred.
• Experience using GIS software and/or online mapping applications to support vehicle navigation and route planning.
• Familiarity with geospatial data, GPS hardware, and related software applications.
• Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office, ArcGIS or AutoCAD.
• Languages required: Arabic (English is also preferred).
• Driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to strict safety standards and enforce consistent data collection procedures.
• Safely guide the car captain in urban, rural, and unfamiliar environments.
• Mount, configure, operate, and monitor mobile mapping system, 360° panoramic camera, GPS equipment, and related system hardware supporting daily data collection operations.
• Download, organize, and post-process raw sensor data; transfer or ship data sets to the data processing center.
• Record and maintain daily operations log, prepare activity/incident reports, and other required paperwork.
• Perform quality control activities of system data streams; provide feedback to the data processing center.
• Troubleshoot mobile mapping system issues; coordinate solutions with in-house staff or vendor support.
• Assist in removal, repair, and installation of the mobile mapping system on data collection vehicles.
• Comply with vehicle maintenance schedule provided by the employer.

Main Responsibilities:

• Adhere to strict safety standards and enforce consistent data collection procedures.
• Safely guide the car captain in urban, rural, and unfamiliar environments.
• Mount, configure, operate, and monitor mobile mapping system, 360° panoramic camera, GPS equipment, and related system hardware supporting daily data collection operations.
• Download, organize, and post-process raw sensor data; digitally transfer or physically ship project source data sets (ex. point cloud, imagery, GPS, etc.) to the data processing center supporting the production of project data deliverables.
• Record and maintain daily operations log, prepare activity/incident reports, and other required paperwork following daily data collection operations.
• Perform quality control activities of system (source) data streams; provide feedback to the data processing center.
• Troubleshoot mobile mapping system issues, errors, and data inconsistencies; coordinate solutions and system fixes with in-house technical staff and/or hardware vendor’s technical support team.
• Assist in the removal, repair, and installation of the mobile mapping system on data collection vehicles.
• Comply to vehicle maintenance schedule provided by the employer.

Education and Experience Requirements
