Job summary

Dar Al Riyadh Group seeks an experienced Senior Surveying Engineer to conduct topographic surveys, set-out activities, and as-built documentation for water facilities and dam-related projects across Saudi Arabia.

You will establish and maintain survey-control networks, validate field data, and produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Strong field documentation, reporting, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional surveying experience.
  • Water facilities experience is required.
  • Experience conducting topographic, control, setting-out and as-built surveys.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining survey-control networks and benchmarks.
  • Strong knowledge of total stations, GNSS/GPS, digital levels and related survey instruments.
  • Ability to review contractors' survey submissions and verify site measurements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related survey software.
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems, survey adjustments and QC procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, profiles and cross-sections.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct topographic boundary control setting-out and as-built surveys Survey land parcels and document their legal physical and geographical characteristics Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical survey-control networks Verify benchmarks coordinates elevations and reference points before commencing fieldwork Survey dam crests embankments abutments spillways reservoirs outlet structures channels and access roads Carry out level surveys to verify slopes profiles gradients and drainage arrangements Support reservoir-capacity sedimentation and bathymetric surveys where required Monitor settlement displacement deformation and movement of dam structures and surrounding ground Take accurate readings from survey monuments and monitoring points Compare current survey results with baseline and historical information Immediately report abnormal movement settlement or dimensional deviation Prepare survey drawings plans profiles cross-sections and contour maps Produce accurate site layouts land-parcel plans and engineering survey records Prepare graphical outputs schedules and final survey documentation for stakeholders Validate and document all field-survey data Download process adjust and verify data collected through survey instruments Perform independent checks to confirm the accuracy and completeness of survey results Review contractors survey data calculations drawings and setting-out records Verify contractors coordinates levels alignments dimensions and completed quantities Check that construction and maintenance works comply with approved survey information and drawings Identify survey discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and engineers Support quantity verification and measurement of completed works Maintain survey field books raw data instrument files calculation sheets and digital records Maintain an organized register of benchmarks control points and monitoring stations Protect survey monuments and arrange their reinstatement where damaged or disturbed Ensure survey instruments are calibrated maintained and suitable for the required accuracy Coordinate with civil structural geotechnical hydraulic environmental and GIS teams Support land acquisition right-of-way and boundary-verification activities where required Participate in joint surveys site inspections handover and completion verification Prepare clear daily weekly monthly annual and technical reports as required by the assignment Present survey findings discrepancies movement trends and recommendations to project management Coordinate with government stakeholders consultants contractors and multidisciplinary teams Attend meetings inspections and site visits anywhere in Saudi Arabia as required Comply with Saudi laws applicable codes Client procedures quality requirements and occupational health and safety obligations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized university Minimum 8 years of professional surveying experience Previous experience with water facilities is required Demonstrated experience conducting topographic, control, setting-out and as-built surveys Experience establishing and maintaining survey-control networks and benchmarks Strong practical knowledge of total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, digital levels and related survey instruments Experience processing and validating field data and preparing survey drawings and records Ability to review contractors survey submissions and independently verify site measurements Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant survey-processing software Knowledge of coordinate systems, survey adjustments and quality-control procedures Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, profiles and cross-sections Strong field-documentation, reporting, coordination and problem-solving skills Relevant experience must be supported by verifiable employment records, project references, drawings, records or reports when requested
