Job summary

CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) seeks an Engineer to plan the fleet maintenance program, maintain all key data, and predict major maintenance in coordination with supervisors. You will schedule daily maintenance, plan monthly fleet maintenance, assign technicians, review completed tasks, and ensure records and inspections are up to date.

Candidates should have an engineering degree, knowledge of rolling stock, and experience with ERP systems; English is required with

Qualifications

• University qualification as Engineer, preferable specialised in Mechanical or Electronics or Instrumentation or automobiles.
• Preferable experience in the maintenance of rail, industrial, aeronautic or automobile equipment;
• Languages required: English.
• Spanish or Arabic knowledge will be an asset

Responsibilities

• Schedule the daily maintenance tasks for the shift.
• Plan Monthly maintenance of the fleet.
• Schedule and plan technicians according to the tasks forecasted ahead.
• Review and maintaining of the completed tasks by the team leaders.
• Review and maintaining of various records like inspection check lists, UFWL data’s.
• Coordination with other workshops for proper maintenance of the fleet.
• Training and assessment of the technicians for the different maintenance tasks
• Analysis of train logs to improve maintenance plan
• Definition and planning of tools and materials required for the maintenance operations
• Continuous improvement of the maintenance documentation

JOB PURPOSE

Ability to understand the requirements of planning the maintenance program of the fleet. Must be maintaining all key data required for planning the optimal maintenance of the fleet. Proactive in predicting the major maintenance of the fleet and reviewing with his superior.

Daily Maintenance planning of the fleet and scheduling the major maintenance within the permissible tolerances. He will be maintaining all the necessary records about the fleet maintenance including wheel maintenance, major inspections and planning the deviations that occurs during the inspections. He needs to coordinate with the Corrective team, warehouse team and with other departments for maintaining optimal maintenance of the fleet.

Analysis and optimization of the maintenance documentation and activities as per company’s internal procedure. Compilation and analysis of the logs reports from the train to identify potential maintenance schedule optimization. Audit of the maintenance activities performed by the technicians to stablish the competency of the technicians and quality of the maintenance operations.

Quality Systems- Tidiness and Cleanliness: Knowledge and application of the quality, tidiness and cleanliness regulations and requirements in the organisation.

Occupational Risk prevention and the environment: Application of occupational risk prevention and environmental regulations which must currently be enforced in the organisation.
