Job summary

Asmacs is seeking a Workshop Maintenance Manager to oversee daily operations of project workshops supporting railway track, structures, and equipment maintenance. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and efficient maintenance of assets.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with at least 5 years in railway or heavy equipment maintenance, and possess relevant certifications. On-site work in Saudi Arabia with collaboration across districts is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in railway, mechanical maintenance, or workshop management.
  • Professional certifications in Mechanical Maintenance, Plant Maintenance, or Asset Management are desirable.
  • Certification in maintenance planning or workshop management will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of project workshops supporting track, structures, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for workshop assets per manufacturers' recommendations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate repair, servicing, inspection, calibration, and overhaul activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure workshop facilities, lifting equipment, machinery, and tools comply with contractual requirements, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Plan and control workshop manpower, materials, spare parts, consumables, and specialized tools for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with District Managers and maintenance teams to ensure timely equipment availability for field operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, service reports, inspection records, and asset documentation.
  • Ensure proper inventory control of spare parts, workshop consumables, and critical maintenance materials.
  • Implement quality control procedures for workshop repairs to ensure project quality requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements within workshop facilities.

Job description

Main Duties
  • Manage the daily operation of all project workshops supporting track maintenance, structures maintenance, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance vehicles, heavy equipment, rail maintenance machines, tools, and workshop equipment are maintained in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all workshop assets in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate repair, servicing, inspection, calibration, and overhaul activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure workshop facilities, lifting equipment, machinery, and specialized tools comply with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Plan and control workshop manpower, materials, spare parts, consumables, and specialized tools required for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with District Managers and maintenance teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and plant required for field operations.

  • Conduct routine inspections of workshop facilities and ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections, testing, and certification of workshop equipment and lifting appliances where applicable.
  • Prepare periodic reports on equipment utilization, maintenance performance, workshop productivity, equipment failures, and improvement initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workshop operations through preventive maintenance, staff development, and efficient resource utilization.

  • Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect the well-being of all employees and company assets.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and overall business objectives.
