Responsibilities

Role Overview

DAO-Badran is seeking a creative and technically capable Interior Designer with strong conceptual thinking and a refined design sensibility.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of distinctive interior environments by translating client requirements, project narratives, cultural context, and functional needs into coherent design solutions. The role involves supporting projects from concept development through design documentation, coordination, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop creative, original, and contextually relevant interior design concepts.
• Translate project briefs into sketches, mood boards, material palettes, spatial concepts, and design presentations.
• Prepare space plans, furniture layouts, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and interior design details.
• Produce high-quality 3D models, visualizations, and presentation materials.
• Explore design alternatives and actively contribute to design reviews and workshops.
• Select and specify furniture, lighting, finishes, flooring, fabrics, fixtures, and interior accessories.
• Apply a strong understanding of composition, proportion, color, lighting, materiality, and spatial experience.
• Use AI-supported tools to enhance design research, ideation, visualization, presentation quality, and workflow efficiency.
• Participate in client meetings and assist in identifying project requirements and expectations.
• Conduct site surveys, field verification, test-fit studies, and existing-condition assessments.
• Coordinate with senior designers, architects, BIM teams, technical delivery teams, engineers, and specialist consultants.
• Prepare design schedules, specifications, finish schedules, furniture schedules, and project documentation.
• Support the preparation of BOQs, tender documents, material submissions, and procurement packages.
• Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and contractor submissions.
• Maintain the approved design intent throughout design development and technical delivery.
• Provide design support during construction and assist in resolving site-related design matters.
• Complete assigned deliverables in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, budgets, and DAO-Badran procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong conceptual design skills and a refined understanding of spatial design, materiality, furniture, lighting, and detailing.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design development, visualization, and completed interior design work.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for interior modelling, documentation, and BIM coordination.
• Proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max and relevant rendering software.
• Experience using AI design and visualization tools for concept development, research, image generation, and presentation enhancement.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software.
• Good understanding of interior construction, fit-out processes, materials, furniture, and technical detailing.
• Strong presentation, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
