Job summary

Nawras Power Company seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to plan, supervise, and coordinate maintenance activities for plant I&C equipment. You will work under the I&C Section Head and Maintenance Manager, ensuring safe, reliable operation and compliance with IMS requirements.

The role requires a BE in Instrumentation & Control with 3–5 years of related experience, preferably in a combined cycle power plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Engineering Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of a combined cycle power plant as an I&C Engineer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, outages, and overhauls for I&C equipment.
• Assign maintenance jobs and supervise maintenance staff.
• Execute work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinate with planning engineer.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence related to work.
• Ensure IMS objectives, targets, and programs are implemented and reported.

Job description

Works under the direction of the I&C Section Head and Maintenance Manager to plan and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly/annual outage, and overhauling work activities on Nawras plant Instrumentation & Control (I&C) equipment.

• Assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as per the direction of the Section Head.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance staff.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence related to work.
• Executes work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinates with the planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
• Maintains communications and relations necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and to ensure corrective action is undertaken.
• Assists the Maintenance Manager in executing corrective and planned maintenance in line with the annual scheduled maintenance plan.
• Performs technical evaluation of quotations received from the purchasing department and recommends the appropriate choice.
• Prepares purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables within budgetary constraints, and arranges strategic spares availability to support maintenance requirements.
• Reviews and recommends new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Supervises, directs, and coordinates the activities of all personnel assigned to the I&C area.
• Carries out any other duty assigned by management from time to time.
• Ensures Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessments are carried out, controlled, and updated.
• Implements, monitors, and reports on IMS objectives, targets, and programs.
• Provides necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of the IMS.
• Reports IMS performance to management periodically.
• Ensures legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities.
• Ensures identification of root cause for non-conformances/deviations and implements corrective/preventive actions.
• Identifies competency gaps for subordinate personnel and implements necessary actions.
• Carries out annual performance evaluation of reporting employees.
• Ensures compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational requirements.
• Provides on-the-job training to new employees and evaluates their OJT performance.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor's Engineering Degree (B.E.) in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in operation and maintenance of a combined cycle power plant as an I&C Engineer is preferred.
