The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising electrical maintenance activities at the Nawras combined cycle power plant, leading technicians and contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems. The role supports preventive, corrective, and outage maintenance while ensuring compliance with HSE standards, OEM requirements, and plant performance targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, Permit to Work systems, and safe work practices.
- Supervise electrical maintenance activities including preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Ensure work orders, maintenance records, and reports are properly completed in CMMS.
- Perform fault diagnosis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
- Support outage planning, maintenance strategy, budgeting, and plant reliability improvements.
- Manage availability of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to electrical technicians.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company procedures and maintenance standards.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance in combined cycle power plants.
- Experience with GT, ST, HRSG, and generator/electrical balance-of-plant systems.
- Ability to lead maintenance teams and manage contractors.
- Knowledge of HSE requirements, maintenance practices, and CMMS systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in electrical safety, maintenance, or power systems are preferred.
- Valid driving license.
Experience
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience in electrical maintenance within power generation or industrial plants.
- Experience supervising electrical technicians and contractors.
- Practical experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and outage activities.
- Knowledge of OEM procedures, maintenance planning, and reliability improvement practices.
