Job summary

Job description

As an Instructor Pilot (Basic) you will report to the Head of Flying (KFAA) and conduct flight instruction for cadets in accordance with the training syllabi of the Royal Saudi Air Force.

Responsibilities
  • Perform flying operations and cadet training in accordance with KSA Company Flying Regulations and RSAF Regulations.
  • Identify aviation safety risks and provide mitigating recommendations to the Squadron Supervisor.
  • Maintain knowledge of SafeTal incident reporting and use both the Hazard and FORM modules.
  • Provide air operations subject‑matter expertise to the Squadron Supervisor upon request.
  • Carry out duties and delegated tasks from the Squadron Supervisor.
  • Highlight cadet training issues to the Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Follow Squadron Supervisor policies and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of cadets and advise the Squadron Supervisory staff of any issues.
  • Generate reports as required by Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Maintain cultural awareness with the customer at all times.
  • Adhere to required standards and operating procedures in keeping with customer needs.
  • Monitors aviation safety culture within the squadron to ensure adherence to required standards.
  • Self‑monitor fatigue levels in accordance with the KFAA Aircrew Fatigue Management Plan and highlight concerns to Squadron Supervisory staff.
  • Advise the Squadron Supervisor of factors adversely affecting safe operations.
  • Provide ground training lectures and synthetic device missions to cadets as scheduled by their unit.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Highly experienced military or ex‑military flying instructor with an RAF A2 instructor qualification (or equivalent) for basic instruction.
  • Accumulated a minimum of 1,500 total flying hours, 800 of which must be on fixed‑wing aircraft.
  • Accumulated a minimum of 400 total basic flying instructional hours.
  • Maximum age of 51 when contracted.
  • Strong people‑development competencies.
  • High levels of interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to communicate, influence and direct Saudi cadets both in the air and on the ground.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication and networking skills.
  • Any shortfall in the above requirements is subject to customer approval.
