Tangent International is seeking an experienced IMS Performance Engineer to support performance monitoring, optimization, and root cause analysis activities within a large-scale Ericsson Mobile Core environment. This role is ideal for telecom professionals with deep IMS expertise who can leverage analytics and performance insights to improve network quality, service reliability, and customer experience.

Detailed Job Description

As an IMS Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of IMS and Mobile Core network elements across a complex telecom infrastructure. You will conduct end-to-end performance assessments, investigate service degradation issues, and identify opportunities to improve network efficiency and customer experience. Working closely with operations, core network, and optimization teams, you will monitor key performance indicators, perform root cause analysis, and deliver actionable recommendations. The successful candidate will combine strong telecom protocol knowledge with data analytics and automation skills to support data-driven performance management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze IMS and Mobile Core network performance across multiple services and network domains.
• Track, evaluate, and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) and service quality metrics.
• Perform end-to-end network performance analysis and service impact assessments.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network performance issues and service degradations.
• Analyze IMS signaling, call flows, and protocol interactions to identify optimization opportunities.
• Generate detailed performance reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for stakeholders.
• Investigate SIP, Diameter, RTP, and RTCP signaling behavior and service performance.
• Support network optimization initiatives across Ericsson IMS and Mobile Core platforms.
• Develop automation scripts and analytical tools to improve reporting and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendor teams to implement performance improvements.
• Support capacity planning, service assurance, and network quality initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, performance baselines, and optimization recommendations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong experience working with IMS Core network environments.
• Hands-on expertise with P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, MTAS/TAS, SBC, MRF, and MGCF platforms.
• Deep understanding of IMS architecture, signaling, and call flows.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, Diameter, RTP, and RTCP protocols.
• Experience in Mobile Core performance analysis, optimization, and KPI management.
• Proven experience conducting root cause analysis and service performance investigations.
• Hands-on experience in Ericsson Mobile Core environments.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with Python scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of VBA for reporting and operational efficiency improvements.
• Strong Linux operating system and command-line experience.
• Experience with performance reporting, analytics, and Business Intelligence tools.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with VoLTE, VoWiFi, and 5G voice services.
• Knowledge of Ericsson ENIQ, UPM, or telecom performance management platforms.
