Job description

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Outlet Manager
  • Overseeing dining room layout, table seat section numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code
  • Managing restaurant reservation procedures
  • Conducting daily house count: arrivals, departures, and VIPs
  • Coordinating scheduled in‑house group activities, including locations and times
  • Enforcing department policies and service procedures
  • Answering telephone calls within three rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette
  • Recording and confirming restaurant reservations and cancellations in accordance with departmental standards
  • Communicating reservation or cancellation changes to management throughout the shift
  • Monitoring the preparation of own assignments to ensure compliance with departmental standards
  • Ensuring that all menu check folders are cleaned and available in sufficient quantity
  • Keeping the hostess stand clean and organized
  • Reviewing the reservation book, pre‑assigning tables, and following up on special requests
  • Greeting guests at the entrance of the restaurant
  • Seating guests according to the floor plan and ensuring fairness to each waiter
  • Presenting the open menu to guests and ensuring tables are set for optimal service
  • Anticipating heavy business periods and organizing procedures to manage waiting lines
  • Responding promptly to guests’ needs and acknowledging them even during busy times
  • Maintaining positive guest relations at all times
  • Familiarizing oneself with hotel services and activities to answer guest inquiries accurately
  • Handling guest complaints using instant pacification procedures to ensure satisfaction
  • Monitoring guest reactions and consulting with management to maintain satisfaction
  • Ensuring all tables are cleared and reset according to department procedures
  • Maintaining cleanliness and working conditions of own section equipment and supplies
  • Assisting restaurant staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service when requested
  • Promoting a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and quality
  • Conducting table visits at each meal period to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Promoting F&B outlets to each customer during downtime
  • Completing the required training process successfully
  • Assisting the Supervisor with proper cashiering procedures and accurate balancing
  • Assisting in menu printing
  • Being flexible and rotating among the different F&B outlets as needed
  • Performing any other reasonable duties assigned by the Outlet Supervisor
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Host/Hostess or in a similar front‑of‑house hospitality role (1‑2 years preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused mindset
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with the capacity to multitask effectively
  • Proficiency with reservation and point‑of‑sale systems
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution‑oriented in high‑pressure environments with strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills and cultural awareness are a plus
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
