About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce across some of the Kingdom's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As a Health & Safety Supervisor, you will oversee site safety operations, enforce compliance with Saudi regulations, and champion a culture of safety excellence.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to international and local safety standards, including ISO 45001 and the Saudi Building Code (SBC). Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and standards across construction sites.
- Monitor compliance with Saudi Labor Law, SBC, and GOSI safety regulations to ensure legal and operational adherence.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and site visitors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce compliance among all site personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and certifications.
- Promote a safety-first culture by leading toolbox talks, safety drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Support the implementation of sustainability and green building standards, such as Mostadam and LEED, where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management within the construction or engineering industry.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Labor Law, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and GOSI safety regulations.
- Familiarity with international safety standards, including ISO 45001 and OSHA guidelines.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training.
- Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent.
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects or similar large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks like LEED, Mostadam, or Estidama.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Strong background in implementing digital safety tools and technologies.
Working Conditions
- Based in Riyadh, with frequent visits to construction sites.
- Primarily site-based role requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including high temperatures and dusty environments.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended shifts to meet project deadlines.
