Job summary

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) in Riyadh seeks a Mining Superintendent to lead daily open-pit mining and exploration activities, ensuring a steady ore supply for refining while upholding strict safety and environmental standards.

You will manage drilling, blasting, and haulage operations, coordinate with geologists and maintenance, and supervise a diverse workforce across shifts, with a focus on cost control and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• At least ten years in open-pit mining with five years in a leadership role.
• Experience in drilling and blasting in hard rock gold deposits.
• Knowledge of Saudi mining laws and environmental regulations by MIM.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and coordinate drilling and blasting to meet ore targets.
• Enforce permit-to-work and lockout/tagout safety protocols across operations.
• Manage budget for mining consumables and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists to optimize blast design and minimize dilution.
• Oversee third-party drilling and earthmoving contractors and validate outputs.
• Coordinate maintenance for heavy equipment to minimize downtime.
• Serve as primary contact for inspectors and ensure compliance with licenses.
