Job summary

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Drilling Operation Manager to lead exploration and production drilling, define mineral resources, and drive the downstream bullion production value chain.

The role reports to the Drilling Director and focuses on contractor management, HSE compliance, budgeting, data integrity, and Saudization, delivering high‑quality geological data for assay and resource modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in drilling operations with 5+ years in a senior management role.
• Experience with reverse circulation and diamond core drilling programs.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi mining regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex contractor agreements.
• Excellent command of English for technical reporting and communication.
• Willingness to work in remote locations and travel within the Kingdom.
• Valid driving license and clean safety record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily execution of drilling programs to meet meterage targets safely and efficiently.
• Ensure HSE compliance and lead audits across all drilling sites.
• Manage relationships with drilling contractors and monitor performance metrics.
• Control the drilling budget and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising data quality.
• Maintain data integrity and chain-of-custody protocols for samples.
