Reporting to the Production Director, this role is responsible for leading the effective management and optimisation of all forging processes to ensure operational excellence, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and quality in forged products, while driving alignment with Tuwaiq's strategic goals and production objectives.

Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is seeking an experienced and results-driven Forging Shop Manager to join the Operations Department. Reporting to the Production Director, this role is responsible for leading the effective management and optimisation of all forging processes to ensure operational excellence, enhancing efficiency, innovation, and quality in forged products, while driving alignment with Tuwaiq's strategic goals and production objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Ensure the effective cascading of the divisional strategy into operational plans, translating them into actionable outcomes with clear and measurable goals to drive long-term objectives and organisational success
• Contribute to the achievement and alignment of divisional objectives by providing guidance, managing performance, and supporting team development to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Promote adherence to organisational values and ethics, leading by example to foster a principle-driven culture within the division
• Lead talent development initiatives by collaborating with discipline experts to ensure the division has the required talent to meet business needs and contribute to innovative solutions.

Budgeting & Financial Performance

• Contribute to monitoring all divisional operations in line with the approved budget and report any variances for executive decision-making.

Safety Management

• Manage the implementation of safety strategies, plans, and processes that support a strong safety culture, facilitating alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory compliance
• Provide insights for the continuous improvement of Tuwaiq's safety management framework, policies, and procedures to promote compliance, mitigate risks, and drive operational efficiency.

Management Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Manage the preparation of unit reports to meet Tuwaiq's requirements, policies, and quality standards
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster lasting relationships that support business objectives and ensure alignment with Tuwaiq's strategic goals.

Forging Shop Management

• Manage all day-to-day forging activities to ensure alignment with quality, cost, and delivery objectives
• Liaise with Technical and Engineering teams to improve forging processes and workflows, leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles for continuous improvement
• Review and update contingency plans to address forging disruptions such as equipment malfunctions or material shortages, ensuring swift and effective responses to minimise operational downtime and maintain production targets
• Present regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on forging performance, challenges, and process improvement initiatives to ensure informed decision-making and alignment with organisational goals.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Manage the implementation of rigorous quality control measures in the Forging Shop, in collaboration with the Quality department, ensuring forged components meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications
• Ensure compliance with local regulations related to forging processes, including safety, environmental, and quality standards, to maintain a safe and efficient operation that meets certification requirements and supports successful audit outcomes
• Monitor health and safety compliance during forging operations, liaising with HSSE teams to achieve full adherence to regulatory and organisational standards.

Risk Management

• Manage regular risk assessments to identify potential operational, safety, and quality hazards in forging processes, ensuring the implementation of proactive measures and contingency plans addressing equipment malfunctions, material defects, and process disruptions
• Ensure the implementation of safety protocols and risk controls across all forging processes, adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements to enhance safety, maintain equipment reliability, and preserve the integrity of forged products.

Continuous Improvement & Team Development

• Supervise the Forging Shop teams to drive continuous skill development, high motivation, and a safe and productive working environment
• Manage the implementation of targeted training programmes on forging techniques and standards, in collaboration with HR, to enhance team expertise, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent adherence to high-quality production standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Relevant professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Certified Forging Specialist, or NEBOSH are preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Forging Shop operations or related fields, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.

Technical Competencies

• Comprehensive knowledge of forging techniques including hot forging, cold forging, and die design, as well as metallurgical properties
• Familiarity with international forging standards
• In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to forging operations in Saudi Arabia
• Knowledge of material science related to metals and alloys
• Proficiency in furnace operations and heat treatment integration within forging workflows
• Understanding of HSSE protocols and compliance requirements.
