Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Saudi Arabia to execute installation testing and commissioning of HV products at customer sites and Hitachi Energy projects. You will actively participate in site activities, coordinate HV test equipment, and manage on-site operations with PM teams to ensure timely delivery and quality.

The role requires a 3–5 year background in HV products, and fluency in English and Arabic, with a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment or HV switchgear.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment.
• Coordinate with tools management department and handle HV test equipment for installation, testing and commissioning.
• Complete GIS installation and module assembly, perform minor fabrications if required, troubleshoot defects and plan repairs with factory or workshop as needed.
• Learn and operate test equipment used for HV product testing and maintenance at site or Hitachi Energy workplace.
• Work with Project Management on projects with PM requirements and site regulations.
• Lead contractors on site and coordinate resources; obtain PAC or signed timesheets for invoicing.
• Prepare site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share with PM/line manager.
• Follow company rules; report safety/incidents and uphold safety/integrity values.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly timesheets and travel authorization before site deployment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Embody Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity in day-to-day tasks.

The opportunity

Working as Field Service Engineer to execute the installation testing and commissioning activities at customer site or Hitachi Energy projects related to the HV products, including third party HV products if applicable and authorized by Hitachi Energy management.

How you’ll make an impact

• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for Installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as and when required or assigned by the line manager.
• Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of HV tools, arrange and properly use Hitachi Energy HV test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV Products installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control.
• Complete GIS installation and GIS compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, trouble shooting and rectification of HV products defect workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work need to be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGHV Service at site, or at customer workplace.
• Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for HV product testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or Hitachi Energy workplace. Learn how to use tools used for HV products service jobs.
• Work with Project Management team on various project as and when required with full compliance of PM requirement and maintain discipline advise by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead the contractor or sub-contractor during job execution and coordinate with customer and back-office support for any resources requirements to complete the job. Get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share them with the PM, line manager or supervisor.
• Follow the company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project Manager. Implement value in day-to-day activity or task.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheet, expanse report as per company guideline in timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to start the travelling for site or deployment.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Previous experience of 3-5 years in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switchgear protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, industries or utilities companies.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written in English & Arabic language is required.
