Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead on-site installation, testing and commissioning of HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and related equipment at customer sites or Hitachi Energy projects.

You will coordinate with tools management, operate HV test equipment, supervise contractors, and prepare site reports while ensuring safety and PM compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switchgear protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site activities for installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and related equipment.
• Coordinate with tools management and use Hitachi HV test equipment for site activities.
• Complete installation work, troubleshoot HV products, and advise action plans for repairs at Hitachi Energy factory or workshop.
• Learn and operate test equipment for HV product testing and maintenance on site or at Hitachi Energy workplace.
• Lead contractors during job execution and coordinate resources to complete tasks, obtaining PAC or time sheets for invoicing.
• Prepare site reports, activity plans and resource requirements; ensure compliance with PM requirements and site regulations.

Job description

Working as Field Service Engineer to execute the installation testing and commissioning activities at customer site or Hitachi Energy projects related to the HV products, including third party HV products if applicable and authorized by Hitachi Energy management.

How you’ll make an impact

• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for Installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as and when required or assigned by the line manager.
• Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of HV tools, arrange and properly use Hitachi Energy HV test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV Products installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control.
• Complete GIS installation and GIS compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, trouble shooting and rectification of HV products defect workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work need to be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGHV Service at site, or at customer workplace.
• Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for HV product testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or Hitachi Energy workplace. Learn how to use tools used for HV products service jobs.
• Work with Project Management team on various project as and when required with full compliance of PM requirement and maintain discipline advise by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead the contractor or sub-contractor during job execution and coordinate with customer and back-office support for any resources requirements to complete the job. Get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share them with the PM, line manager or supervisor.
• Follow the company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project Manager. Implement value in day-to-day activity or task.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheet, expanse report as per company guideline in timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to start the travelling for site or deployment.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Previous experience of 3-5 years in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switchgear protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, industries or utilities companies.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written in English & Arabic language is required.
