Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation / Digital Control System Field Engineer for the Ar Rjum project in Saudi Arabia. The role covers construction engineering within electrical/instrumentation and controls, developing work plans, coordinating materials, performing inspections, and ensuring safe, quality testing through to turnover for startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and instrumentation engineering from an accredited university.
• 20 years of progressive construction or electrical engineering experience; or 25 years of relevant experience in the MENA region.
• Strong English language communication and report writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to solve problems by thinking laterally and understand client needs.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team.
• Self-driven with ability to plan and execute work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to commodity installations and work sequencing.
• Provide field engineering support and assistance to superintendents, verifying materials, equipment, and quality, ensuring results meet design requirements.
• Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform inspections, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction.
• Ensure procedural compliance, material control, and complete documentation of inspections.
• Prepare quantity listings of field purchased material and initiate requisitions for field material purchases.
• Support preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary facilities and as-built drawings.
• Support planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment with proper warehousing and environmental protection.
• Review specifications, PO's, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, manuals, and data to advise on site.
