Job summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation / Digital Control System Field Engineer at Bechtel is responsible for construction engineering within E&I and DCS disciplines, developing work plans, coordinating materials, performing inspections, and documenting safety and quality control through turnover to Startup/Commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and instrumentation engineering, or related subject, with 20+ years of progressive construction or electrical experience; or 25+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Must be physically able to conduct field inspections on a construction site with PPE and access requirements.
• Strong English communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team and plan work independently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues for commodity installations.
• Provide field engineering support to superintendents and verify materials, equipment, and quality.
• Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs, inspections and turnover documentation.
• Ensure procedural compliance, material control and complete documentation of inspections.
• Prepare quantity listings and requisitions for field materials; assist in drawings and schedules.
• Support planning of temporary facilities, warehousing and environmental protection measures.
• Review specs, PO's, subcontracts and technical data to advise on site activities.
