Job summary

FAENA The Red Sea is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead daily activities of the Engineering team and coordinate maintenance across hotel facilities. You will conduct inspections, manage preventive programs, and respond to issues to ensure safety, quality, and uptime.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering, hospitality experience, and strong leadership. You will work on-site with a focus on safety, documentation, and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related field.
• Experience in Engineering or Maintenance within hospitality or similar environment preferred.
• Supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of hotel building systems and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Engineering team.
• Assign maintenance tasks and monitor completion for quality and timeliness.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest and back-of-house areas and facilities.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs follow established schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support the team in corrective actions.
• Monitor building systems: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
• Ensure work adheres to safety procedures and hotel standards.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and servicing.
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers as needed.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
• Keep engineering areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Communicate with other departments on maintenance needs.

Job Description

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Engineering team.
• Assign maintenance tasks and monitor their completion to ensure quality and timely execution.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are carried out according to established schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, operational issues, and emergency situations.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and support the team in identifying effective solutions.
• Monitor the condition and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with safety procedures, hotel standards, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Monitor tools, equipment, spare parts, and engineering supplies and report replenishment requirements when necessary.
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers when required and monitor the quality of completed work.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the Engineering department.
• Ensure workshops, plant rooms, and engineering areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance requirements and operational priorities.
• Support the training and development of Engineering team members and ensure proper working procedures are followed.
• Assist Engineering management with departmental projects, inspections, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• Previous experience in Engineering or Maintenance within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance practices.
• Understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards and procedures.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operations.
