Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for the Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard. You will supervise daily maintenance operations, ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems function safely and efficiently, and coordinate with other departments to minimize guest disruptions.

The role requires 3–5 years in engineering maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or building services.
• 3–5 years of engineering maintenance experience with 2+ years in supervision, preferably in hotels.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership, communication and team supervision abilities.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CMMS/BMS experience is a plus.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily engineering activities, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and plant rooms to identify maintenance needs.

• Monitor equipment condition and advise on repairs or replacements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts for operations.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Security and others to minimize disruptions.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and schedules.
• Oversee contractor work and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Promote energy conservation and sustainability programs.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards and local regulations.
• Support Chief Engineer with departmental projects and improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Description

We are looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join our Engineering team at Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the daily maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring all building systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. The role oversees engineering technicians, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and supports the delivery of a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues in line with IHG brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily activities of the engineering team, ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen, and building systems.
• Assign daily work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and plant rooms to identify maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to technicians during repairs and maintenance activities.
• Monitor the condition of hotel equipment and recommend repairs, replacements, or improvements when necessary.
• Ensure engineering tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and available for operational needs.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, and other departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor contractor work when assigned, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety requirements.
• Promote energy conservation initiatives and support sustainability programs throughout the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, hotel policies, local regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Support the Chief Engineer and Duty Engineer with departmental projects, audits, and operational improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.
  

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team supervision abilities.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/BMS) is an advantage.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
