Job summary

ENNISMORE in Saudi Arabia is seeking a hands-on Engineering Supervisor to lead the hotel’s engineering team, coordinate daily activities, and ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. You will monitor building systems, enforce safety procedures, and work with contractors as needed.

This role requires a technical diploma, hospitality industry experience, and a proven track record in supervision.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related field.
• Experience in Engineering or Maintenance within hospitality or similar environments.
• Supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel building systems and preventive maintenance.
• Understanding health, safety and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Engineering team.
• Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance programs for facilities.
• Respond to maintenance requests, issues and emergencies promptly.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and guide the team to effective solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Engineering team
• Assign maintenance tasks and monitor their completion to ensure quality and timely execution
• Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are carried out according to established schedules
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, operational issues, and emergency situations
• Troubleshoot technical problems and support the team in identifying effective solutions
• Monitor the condition and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems
• Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with safety procedures, hotel standards, and applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing
• Monitor tools, equipment, spare parts, and engineering supplies and report replenishment requirements when necessary
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers when required and monitor the quality of completed work
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the Engineering department
• Ensure workshops, plant rooms, and engineering areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition
• Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance requirements and operational priorities
• Support the training and development of Engineering team members and ensure proper working procedures are followed
• Assist Engineering management with departmental projects, inspections, reporting, and operational requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering management

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• Previous experience in Engineering or Maintenance within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance practices.
• Understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards and procedures.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operations.
