Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group's Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Manager in delivering premium cleanliness, safety, and presentation across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

You will lead and coach the housekeeping team, coordinate daily operations, manage inventory and cost controls, and ensure compliance with IHG brand standards to deliver an exceptional guest experience in a busy 4- or 5-star setting

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management or related field.
• 3–5 years housekeeping experience with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing daily operations for efficiency.
• Supervise room attendants, public areas, laundry, and supervisors to ensure quality.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas for compliance with brand standards.
• Coordinate with Front Office to ensure timely room availability.
• Plan daily work assignments and staffing based on occupancy.
• Train and develop housekeeping staff to improve productivity and service.
• Monitor supplies, linens, uniforms, and guest amenities to control costs.
• Coordinate with Engineering for prompt maintenance resolution.
• Handle Lost & Found items per hotel policy and maintain records.
• Assist in monitoring expenses and support cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and fire regulations.
• Support investigations of guest complaints and service recovery.
• Prepare operational, room inspection, and productivity reports.
• Act on behalf of the Housekeeping Manager in their absence.

The successful candidate will support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. The role assists in leading the housekeeping team, maintaining operational efficiency, supporting inventory control, and ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Supervise room attendants, public area attendants, laundry, and housekeeping supervisors to maintain cleanliness and quality standards.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure compliance with IHG brand standards.
• Monitor room status and coordinate closely with Front Office to ensure timely room availability for arrivals and departures.
• Support the planning of daily work assignments and staffing schedules based on hotel occupancy and operational requirements.
• Assist in training, coaching, and developing housekeeping colleagues to improve productivity, service quality, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, uniforms, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
• Coordinate with Engineering to ensure maintenance issues are reported and resolved promptly.
• Ensure proper handling of Lost & Found items in accordance with hotel policies and maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist in monitoring departmental expenses and support cost‑control initiatives without compromising service quality.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and fire safety regulations throughout all housekeeping operations.
• Support investigations and follow‑up on guest complaints, implementing service recovery actions where necessary.
• Prepare operational reports, room inspection records, and productivity reports as required.
• Act on behalf of the Housekeeping Manager during their absence to ensure continuity of operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
  

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of Housekeeping experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory position, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, and quality inspection procedures.
• Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Knowledge of housekeeping inventory control and cost management.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems is preferred.
