ITI with 6 years’ experience in electrical maintenance is required. You will troubleshoot PLC-based systems, maintain MCCs, VFDs, panels, and ensure safe operation and preventive maintenance in a high-temperature

Qualifications

• ITI qualification is required.
• Experience: 6 years in electrical maintenance for CCM.
• Knowledge of PLC-based control systems (Siemens/ABB/Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and maintain panels and switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of CCM electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults in motors, drives, PLC-controlled systems, sensors, encoders, and field instruments.
• Maintain and repair electrical panels, MCCs, VFDs, soft starters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Ensure smooth operation of CCM equipment such as mould oscillation systems, withdrawal & straightening units, tundish car, ladle turret, and cooling systems.
• Attend electrical breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
• Perform routine inspection of cables, motors, limit switches, proximity sensors, and control circuits.
• Execute maintenance activities as per planned maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with mechanical, automation, and production teams during shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and report equipment abnormalities to the supervisor.

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and smooth operation of electrical systems and equipment to ensure uninterrupted production and equipment reliability.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance in a steel plant.
• Hands-on experience with PLC-based control systems (Siemens/ABB/Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors, VFDs, MCCs, HT/LT electrical systems, and control panels.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Familiarity with electrical measuring instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers (Megger), etc.
• Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical maintenance of Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) in an integrated steel plant or Steel Melting Shop.
• Experience in handling breakdown maintenance and shutdown activities in a high-temperature manufacturing environment.
