Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to contractor inspection requests within required timeframes.
  • Inspect electrical and dry-utility works against approved documentation.
  • Assist with comparing shop drawings to contract drawings and technical specifications.
  • Verify compliance with statutory requirements, local codes, and applicable standards.
  • Check utility routes, duct banks, conduits, chambers, cabling, and associated equipment.
  • Inspect electrical interfaces serving landscape, lighting, public-realm, and streetscape assets.
  • Confirm that approved materials and installation methods are being used.
  • Identify work completed outside approved drawings or specifications.
  • Record non-compliant conditions and notify responsible project stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractor workmanship and daily progress.
  • Prepare clear inspection comments supported by field evidence.
  • Maintain daily records and organized progress photographs.
  • Issue surveillance reports for deficient or incomplete construction.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports when required.
  • Monitor contractor corrections and verify satisfactory closeout.
  • Coordinate electrical works with civil, roads, landscape, utilities, drainage, and structural disciplines.
  • Identify clashes, access restrictions, or incomplete interface arrangements.
  • Provide practical technical input to help resolve electrical site issues.
  • Confirm contractor compliance with approved method statements and contract requirements.
  • Maintain inspection registers and records of completed work.
  • Assist with measurement and verification of executed quantities.
  • Observe project safety procedures during site activities.
  • Report unsafe conditions involving electrical or construction work.
