Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Design Manager - Architecture to lead multi-disciplinary design coordination across buildings, infrastructure, landscape and master planning. The role emphasizes design governance, technical integration, and authority compliance within a consultancy setting.

You will chair design coordination meetings, oversee development from concept to IFC, ensure QA/QC and timely deliverables, and coordinate with clients and authorities to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in design coordination or design management.
• Experience in engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Strong understanding of design development workflows and approval processes.
• Experience coordinating projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams across architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and specialist disciplines.
• Oversee design development and design review activities from concept through detailed design and IFC.
• Ensure consistency with the client brief, design intent, project objectives, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate design submissions, responses to comments, and revisions from client, authority, and third-party reviews.
• Act as the central point of contact for design interfaces and technical integration.
• Manage and coordinate sub-consultants, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables aligned with scope and programme.
• Chair design coordination meetings and workshops, issuing clear actions and follow-ups.
• Support project management functions including programme tracking, progress reporting, and risk identification.
• Ensure design documentation meets consultancy QA/QC procedures and project quality requirements.
• Maintain structured records of design decisions, approvals, and technical correspondence.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in design coordination, design management, or similar roles
• Proven experience working within an engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of design development workflows and approval processes
• Experience coordinating projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is strongly preferred
