Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join a leading petrochemical project team in Saudi Arabia. You will deliver robust cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting across major brownfield and turnaround projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cost control within petrochemicals or downstream oil & gas, with hands-on experience in TA, Shutdowns, and Brownfield projects, and proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Primavera P6, and Excel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, Project Controls, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of cost control experience within petrochemical, refining, or downstream oil & gas sector.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting major Turnaround (TA), Shutdown, and Brownfield projects.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project environments and project control methodologies.
  • Proven experience in cost forecasting, budgeting, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience reviewing contractor costs, change orders, and project financial performance.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Oracle, Primavera P6, Excel, and project controls reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Track actual costs, commitments, accruals, and cash flow against approved budgets.
  • Perform cost variance analysis and identify potential cost overruns.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cost performance reports for project management and stakeholders.
  • Support project managers with cost forecasting and earned value analysis.
  • Monitor contractor expenditures and review invoices for compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Assist with change management, variation orders, and budget revisions.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Contracts, Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost performance tracking.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve project performance.
  • Support project close-out activities and final cost reporting.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering robust cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting across major brownfield and turnaround projects, ensuring expenditures remain aligned with approved budgets and project objectives.

This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in petrochemical facilities, shutdowns, turnarounds, revamps, and brownfield capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
