Lead the cost control function across assigned finishing and fit-out projects from pre-construction through completion
- Establish project budgets cost baselines cost codes and cost control procedures
- Monitor project commitments actual costs accruals forecasts and remaining costs
- Prepare and maintain strong Cost Value Reconciliation CVR strong and monthly cost reports
- Track project expenditure against approved budgets and identify cost overruns and potential financial risks
- Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier commitments purchase orders variations and payment applications
- Review and evaluate strong variations change orders claims and additional works strong from a cost perspective
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers Quantity Surveyors Commercial Teams Procurement Finance and Planning departments
- Prepare strong Estimate at Completion EAC strong and strong Estimate to Complete ETC strong forecasts
- Monitor project cash flow and ensure alignment between planned and actual expenditure
- Review subcontractor costs and assess their impact on overall project profitability
- Support commercial teams in evaluating the financial impact of design changes scope changes and client instructions
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and contractual requirements
- Prepare management reports highlighting project financial performance risks trends and forecasts
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly project cost reports
- Establish appropriate cost control measures and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior cost control engineers and project controls personnel
- Participate in project review meetings and provide cost-related insights to senior management
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in cost engineering and control, preferably within the [Specify Industry, e.g., Oil & Gas, Construction, Infrastructure] sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing costs on large-scale, complex projects.
- Expert proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Primavera P6, EcoSys, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, contract administration, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of [Specify other languages if applicable, e.g., Spanish, French] is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be someone who has progressed from Cost Control Engineer / Project Controls Engineer to a Lead-level position and has independently managed cost control for complex fit-out or finishing projects.
Candidates with experience in hospitality, luxury hotels, high-rise buildings, commercial developments, retail, and large-scale interior fit-out projects in KSA/GCC will be strongly preferred.
KSA-based candidates with immediate or short-term availability are highly preferred.
