The Commercial Manager owns the commercial direction of assigned Grocery categories, balancing customer demand with revenue, margin, inventory, supplier, and market-share objectives. The position requires informed decisions about what products to range, how they should be priced and promoted, and which supplier partnerships can generate sustainable commercial value. Working across buying, supply chain, stores, operations, and marketing, the manager will turn customer insights and trading data into category actions. Effective execution will directly influence product availability, promotional returns, category profitability, competitive positioning, and the overall grocery shopping proposition.
The position requires a bachelor 's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field, supported by at least 5 years of relevant Grocery category management experience. Candidates should have worked within a supermarket, hypermarket, retailer, e-commerce business, FMCG organization, or another high-volume consumer environment. Strong familiarity with packaged food, beverages, household goods, and Grocery market dynamics is important. A proven background in supplier negotiations, buying, assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and commercial performance management is expected. Candidates should be comfortable analyzing sales, margins, stock levels, promotional returns, and category KPIs before making commercial decisions. Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, strong commercial judgment, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to influence suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders are essential.
