Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Commercial Manager - Fresh Food to lead the commercial strategy across Produce, Bakery, Delicatessen, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, and Dairy in KSA.

You will drive sales growth, optimize assortments, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure top quality, freshness, and regulatory compliance across all stores. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Store teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

• Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate sales performance and margins.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Fresh Food categories to achieve sales, margin, and growth objectives.
• Manage category assortment, pricing, promotions, and seasonal plans to meet customer demand and business targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers to secure high-quality products and favorable terms.
• Lead supplier negotiations, annual agreements, investment plans, and promotional funding initiatives.
• Monitor category performance: sales, gross margin, waste, shrinkage, stock availability, and turnover.
• Ensure freshness, food safety, and regulatory standards; collaborate with store teams to optimize availability.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Store teams to optimize product availability and execution.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Commercial Manager - Fresh Food is responsible for leading the commercial strategy across Fresh Food categories, including Produce, Bakery, Delicatessen, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, and Dairy. The role drives sales growth, profitability, product quality, supplier partnerships, and category innovation while ensuring freshness, availability, and an exceptional customer experience across all stores

ROLE PROFILE

• Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Fresh Food categories to achieve sales, margin, and growth objectives.
• Manage category assortment, pricing, promotions, and seasonal plans to meet customer demand and business targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to secure high-quality products and competitive commercial terms.
• Lead supplier negotiations, annual agreements, investment plans, and promotional funding initiatives.
• Monitor category performance, including sales, gross margin, waste, shrinkage, stock availability, and inventory turnover.
• Ensure Fresh Food products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining the highest freshness levels.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Store teams to optimize product availability and operational execution.
• Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for category growth and innovation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Fresh Food Commercial, Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising roles within retail, hypermarkets, supermarkets, or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of Fresh Food categories, sourcing practices, supplier management, and market dynamics.
• Proven experience in commercial negotiations, category planning, pricing, and promotional management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales performance, margins, waste, and inventory metrics.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
