Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an experienced Chief Steward for the Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will lead the Stewarding team, uphold HACCP compliance, and ensure impeccable cleanliness and organization in all kitchens and back-of-house areas.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in Stewarding with supervisory experience, and excellent communication in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in Stewarding, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Chief Steward role.
• Knowledge of HACCP food safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good communication in English; Arabic an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Stewarding team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware are cleaned, sanitized and ready for use.
• Support the Executive Chef and F&B teams with efficient stewarding operations.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and hotel hygiene standards.
• Monitor safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of stewarding equipment with Engineering.
• Manage inventories of operating equipment, cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Minimize breakage and control costs through proper handling and storage.
• Prepare team schedules and provide training to Stewarding staff.
• Ensure PPE and health safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Hotel Management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Chief Stewardto lead our Stewarding team at the First Vignette Collection in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel). This is an important role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness hygiene and organization across all kitchen and back-of-house areas. Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Stewarding team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchens and back-of-house areas
• Ensure all kitchen equipment utensils crockery cutlery and glassware are cleaned sanitized and ready for use
• Support the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team with efficient stewarding operations
• Ensure compliance with HACCP food safety and hotel hygiene standards
• Monitor the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Coordinate the maintenance and repair of stewarding equipment with the Engineering team
• Manage inventories of operating equipment cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Minimize breakage and control operating costs through proper handling and storage
• Prepare team schedules and provide training and guidance to Stewarding colleagues
• Ensure all team members follow health safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Maintain a clean safe and organized working environment at all times
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Hotel Management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of Stewarding experience including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Chief Steward role preferably in an international hotel
• Good knowledge of HACCP food safety and hygiene standards
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good communication skills in English Arabic is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and able to perform operational duties
• Flexible to work shifts weekends and public holidays
• Passion for cleanliness teamwork and delivering high operational standards
